Worldspace satellite radio offers a variety of music, talk, religious and news channels. It all depends on where you live! Worldspace offers programming to two main audiences – African and Middle Eastern, and Indian and Asian. Here's a breakdown of what kind of content you can expect to hear depending on your subscription plan:
AfriStar Gold and Worldspace Silver for the Middle East – Depending on whether or not you subscribe to the gold or silver plans, you can hear everything from BBC World News to Channel Islam.
The AfriStar gold package offers a listener all the best of the United Kingdom 's music and news channels while including programs like the African Learning Channel and Ngoma, which is an African pop channel. News programs include BBC Africa West, East and South and BBC Arabic for Middle Eastern listeners. Get up-to-date international business news with Bloomberg and if you're interested in American news, tune into Fox or CNN for comprehensive international and North American coverage. The gold package is available to users in Africa and the Middle East.
The Middle East silver package is only available to listeners in the Middle East. It includes a lot of the same programs as the gold package, but offers exclusive satellite radio programming such as the BBC Regional news and Jhankaar, which features the best of Bollywood hits. To get the best of the AfriStar satellite, it's advisable to pay the extra $4 a month and get the gold program.
AsiaStar Gold and Worldspace Silver for India – again, depending on your subscription package, you can hear great programming such as Farishta, a channel devoted to retro Hindi film hits. Bloomberg International Pacific Rim news, as well as Bloomberg Japanese news are also included.
The AsiaStar gold package offers religious channels like Sai Global Harmony, which plays bhajans and meditations for the Indian listener and Infusion radio, which is motivational music to pep up your faith. As well, news channels like BBC Asia West and East keep users informed on the latest coverage and like AfriStar, AsiaStar offers American and international news as well.
The Indian silver package is only available to satellite radio listeners in India and offers channels from the gold package. It covers a lot more of the Indian entertainment channels and has Jhankaar and Gandharv which present listeners with the latest Indian entertainment news and releases.
